Brady really should’ve had two pass attempts counted on this play. But it probably was because the first pass was made impossible to determine whether it’s complete or not that it wasn’t. So technically Brady’s catch and second pass were the equivalent of an extremely convenient ricochet off the deflected pass that ends up as completed. Definitely one of the most interesting and obscure plays in NFL history.
